LEE METCALF WILDERNESS |

The proposed 534,000 Lee
Metcalf Wilderness will halt the further degradation of one of the
nation's most scenic, recreational, fish, and wildlife
areas. It is supported by the majority of Gallatin (Montana)
County residents and enjoys strong national favor. It will be a
fitting memorial to the years spent by the late Senator Metcalf in
battling to protect this magnificent area. |

| Accordingly, the Federation of
Western Outdoor
Clubs opposes any bisection of reduction of this Lee Metcalf Wilderness
proposal, and requests that the Congress move at once to provide the
wilderness protection necessary to maintain these
nationally-significant resources. |
