RES. NO. 18: REGARDING REOPENING OFFSHORE OIL DRILLING ALONG CALIFORNIA, OREGON AND WASHINGTON

BACKGROUND:

The oil companies now have 68 million acres of leased public land and off-coast areas they are not utilizing. A new refinery has not been built in 30 years. Although this is now political, we should make a stand.

RESOLUTION:

The Federation of Western Outdoor Clubs opposes opening additional areas to drilling for oil and gas offshore of California, Oregon and Washington.

Submitted by and Contact: Beryl Vonderheid, Contra Cost Hills Club, 1859 39th Avenue, Oakland, California 94601
