PUBLIC LAND GRAB -
"SAGEBRUSH REBELLION" |
|
|
The Federation of Western Outdoor Clubs reaffirms its 1980 Resolution No. 26 opposing state and federal legislation transferring federal lands to state jurisdiction, with the added comment that such lands can be better managed by the federal government than the states, the western states having generally demonstrated poor management practices because of vulnerability to pressure groups. | |
In addition, the
Federation urges Congress to fund land management agencies to a level
where they can adequately manage and safeguard our common heritage. |
