THE 65TH ANNIVERSARY
OF THE NATIONAL PARKS SERVICE |
|
|
The Federation of Western Outdoor Clubs, at its 50th Annual Convention, is pleased to join with the National Parks Service in celebrating its 65th anniversary, and to commend the Service for sixty-five years of devotion to the preservation of the national parks in their natural condition for the enjoyment of future generations. | |
The Federation looks to
the Service for the continuance of its high standards as well as their
enhancement, through extension of its interpretive program, increase of
personnel, reduction of concessions where practical, through
restrictive regulations necessary for protection of the parks from
over-use by the public, by a stepped-up tempo of acquisition of
existing enclaves, and of new land acquisitions. |
||
The Federation pledges its
support for these objectives through education and such political
actions as may be indicated. |
