THE HAZARD OF CHEMICAL WASTE | |
|
||
Huge quantities of
chemical wastes are being dumped into thousands of lakes, streams,
pools and open pits all across the nation. The Environmental
Protection Agency has officially identified only 14,000 of these places
for cleaning. Work, has begun at just three, although there are
an estimated 180,000 lagoons, pools and industrial locations where
deadly chemical poisons are seeping into drinking water including
lakes, rivers and oceans. |
||
The Federation of Western
Outdoor Clubs requests that the Federal Government enforce existing
laws and sufficiently penalize those who defile the environment. |
