MOUNTAIN BICYCLES ON PUBLIC LAND TRAILS
|
|
Trails long used by hikers
and equestrians are now being assaulted by increasing numbers of
mountain bicycle riders who ignore switchbacks and otherwise cause
trail erosion, whose excessive speed poses a safety hazard to others,
and whose presence destroys the opportunity for quiet enjoyment of the
outdoors. |
The Federation of Western
Outdoor Clubs supports the exclusion of bicycles from designated
Wilderness and Wilderness Study Areas. |
