GLOBESCOPE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY
|
|
Under the sponsorship of
Global Tomorrow, a coalition of national conservation organizations
concerned with worldwide conservation issues, is holding a national
assembly in Portland, Oregon, April 17-21, 1985. Globescope will
initiate a continuing process of education, information sharing, and
networking in the United States with these purposes: |
1. to increase public
understanding of the challenges posed by long-term global trends in
environment, resources, population and development;
|
|
2. to highlight the U.S.
role and responsibility in finding cooperative means to respond to
these challenges; and
|
|
3. to encourage and
facilitate positive involvement and action related to these issues by
non-governmental organizations and individuals at the local level.
|
|
Realizing the importance
of broadening our concerns to include the global implications of
environmentally harmful activities in the United States, the Federation
of Western
Outdoor Clubs endorses the objectives of Globescope and urges its
affiliated clubs and FWOC members to support the Assembly through
attendance of its members. |
