| The Federation of Western
Outdoor
Clubs reaffirms Resolution #11 (1987) calling for the cancellation of
the 50-year timber sale contracts in the Tongass National Forest in
Alaska in support of HR 1516. In addition, the Federation
supports S 708 and urges passage of this legislation in the 100th
Congress. Also, the Federation calls for the repeal of Section
705(a) of the Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation Act and urges
protection of additional areas for fish and wildlife habitat. |
