COMMENDATION OF SENATOR DIANE FEINSTEIN |
| Since her election to the
United States Senate in 1990, U.S. Senator Diane Feinstein has been
working diligently for the enactment of the California Desert
Protection Act. Without her determined and effective efforts to
secure protection for California's unique desert environments, this Act
would have remained bogged down in the inactivity of a Senatorial
Subcommittee. |

The Federation of
Western
Outdoor Clubs commends Senator Diane Feinstein for her vision, for her
perseverance in supporting this legislation that is so important, and
for her political adroitness in advancing the Act in Congress. |

| The Federation calls for
its Members and Member clubs to contact their respective federal
legislators, and to encourage them to support Senator Feinstein in her
efforts to help preserve our nation's desert heritage. |
