1998 FWOC Resolution No. 2:
|
|
National Forest Protection Act
|
|
The proposed national
Forest Protection Act of 1997 (HR-2789) would end the ecologically
destructive timber sales program in National Forests and other public
lands. It would redirect Federal funds that previously have been
subsidizing timber sales into worker retraining and ecological
restoration. The Federation of Western
Outdoor Clubs endorses this legislation which currently has 30
cosponsors in Congress. |
