Lake Tahoe Watershed Study
|
|
A Watershed Assessment
Team, consisting of top scientists from the University of California at
Davis, the University of Nevada at Reno, and other institutions has
been established to study the conditions in the Lake Tahoe Basin and to
come up with data that can be used in making management
decisions. This research includes water quality in Lake Tahoe,
the effect of soil erosion on streams, an inventory of remaining old
growth trees, air quality, and wildlife. Results of the study are
scheduled to be presented early in 1999 to the public and to the
management agencies. The Federation of Western
Outdoor Clubs strongly supports this study. |
