Resolution
#15: Proposed Mount Hood National Park
|
|
Mount Hood and its
magnificent surrounding land deserve National Park status in order to
best protect its wilderness and recreational values. Present
Forest Service management continues to foster commercial logging which
is destructive of those values. National Park designation would
provide the same kind of protection now provided to Mount Rainier
National Park. |
|
The Federation of Western
Outdoor Clubs fully supports and endorses all efforts to create a Mount
Hood National Park, encompassing the mountain and all of the public
forested lands surrounding the mountain. |
|
ACTION: Write your
Senators and Representative in Congress and ask them to sponsor a bill
to create the Mount Hood National Park. |
