Resolution
#19: Land and Water Conservation Fund - Full Funding for FY 2001
|
|
The legislation
authorizing the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) allows up to
$900 million per year (using revenues received from off-shore oil
production) to be allocated for land acquisition by government agencies
(local, state and national). However, the specific allocation for
each year must be approved by Congress. Congressional leaders
have so far refused to authorize adequate LWCF funding this session. |
|
1998 FWOC Resolution #16
concerning the LWCF is hereby reaffirmed. |
|
ACTION: Please write to
your Senators and Representatives urging that the full $900 million for
the Land and Water Conservation Fund be authorized for expenditure in
FY 2001. |
