RESOLUTION
#27: NATIONAL ENERGY POLICY

In view of the ongoing
power shortage facing the nation, the Federation calls for increase
conservation of existing supplies and increased use of wind and solar
power. If new power plants must be built, preference should be
given to natural gas-fired/combined cycle types. |
Because of the problems inherent in nuclear and hydro power sources (i.e. waste product disposal and the degradation of river habitat), the The Federation of Western Outdoor Clubs recommends that no new nuclear or hydropower plants be built. |
