RESOLUTION
#38: ENDANGERED SPECIES LEGISLATION IN BRITISH COLUMBIA
|
|
Approximately 70 percent
of all species found in Canada are also found in the United States,
which has long had laws to protect endangered species. In British
Columbia, as well as in the rest of Canada, No such laws exist. |
|
The Federation of Western
Outdoor Clubs supports the preservation of all indigenous wildlife and
urges adoption of effective measures in Canada to protect endangered
species. Such measures should be based on science, not
politics. The listing of species should ensure the protection of
all critical habitat required by those species to complete their life
cycle on all lands within Canada. |
