RESOLUTION OF THANKS
The delegates to the 74th annual convention of the Federation of
Western
Outdoor Clubs, and other attendees from FWOC member clubs, all wish to
express their gratitude to the organizers of this very successful FWOC
convention
for the excellence of the program and for the unique opportunity to
meet and get
to know others with similar interests and conservation objectives.
Thanks also to our hard-working convention committee, consisting of
Shirley
Cameron, chair (Program Committee), assisted by Raelene Gold, Michael
McCloskey,
Roger Anderson, as well as to the Committee on Arrangements, composed
of Joseph
Hargrave, assisted by Roger Anderson, and to our outgoing president,
Winchell
Hayward, for his help on publicity.
Collaborating with one another in the production of this convention was
a great
experience and helped to build the fellowship that is essential for the
success of an
outdoors organization, such as ours.
Thanks also to our host clubs, the Chinook Trail Association and the
Friends of
the Columbia River Gorge, and to the management of the Menucha lodge
for helping
to make our three-day stay at Menucha a delightful experience.
Our convention celebrates the bicentennial of the Lewis and Clark
Expedition's
exploration of this area and appropriately honors their great
achievement. Special
thanks is also due to our convention speakers, all of whom spoke to our
convention
theme: "The Lewis and Clark Expedition--Their Legacy and Our
Challenge."
We have learned a lot in this convention about the challenges that are
still there
and how to deal with them.
Our outgoing president, Win Hayward, hopes to see you at the 75th
annual
Convention next year.
