FEDERATION OF WESTERN OUTDOOR CLUBS
UNNECESSARY MILITARY SPENDING
1995 FWOC
Resolution
No. 12:
|
|
The military budget of
$270 billion passed by the 104th Congress for 1995-1996 is totally
irresponsible. It's a shame that a large bunch of Congressmen got
elected after pledging to eliminate wasteful spending, eliminate "pork
barrel" projects and put the line-item veto into operation, and so far,
NONE of these pledges to the citizens of the U.S. have been fulfilled.
|
The prosperity of this
country should not depend on military spending. The military, and
its Congressional Oversight committees, should be frugal with all
taxpayers money and avoid waste. Furthermore, the military should
be required to obey all anti-pollution regulations and practice
recycling.
|
|
The Federation of Western
Outdoor Clubs endorses decreased military spending on non-essential
items, and insists on the military's observance of all anti-pollution
laws, and avoidance of waste. |
