RESOLUTION
#4: BAN ON SNOWMOBILES IN ALL NATIONAL PARKS (Idaho Alpine Club, Marty
Huebner)

The Federation of Western Outdoor Clubs
supports a ban of snowmobiles in all National Parks, except when needed
for rescue operations.
|
Based on environmental
studies of air pollution and effects on wildlife, the National Park
Service has banned recreational snowmobiles from most U.S. National
Parks. The snowmobile industry and local business interests are
protesting this ban and attempting to pressure Members of Congressional
delegations to overturn the ban.
